The Education Futures Podcast
What is your vision of the future of education? What stories do you have to share? What great examples and practices already exist? In this podcast, we share what we have learned, connect with others, and interview thought leaders who provoke us to think differently in education and human development.
DR. JOHN MORAVEC is a scholar on the future of work and education; a global speaker; editor of the Knowmad Society project; a co-director of the Invisible Learning project; and he is the founder of Education Futures LLC.
John’s research and action scholarship agendas are focused on exploring the convergence of globalization, innovation society, and accelerating change in human knowledge development; and, building positive futures for knowledge creation systems in an era of exponential uncertainty. His work focuses on exploring the emerging “Knowmad Paradigm,” and the new approaches to leadership and human capital development required. This approach is global, and he is most actively engaged in research and collaborations in the United States, Latin America, and Europe. In addition to editing Knowmad Society (2013, Education Futures), he is the co-author of the book Invisible Learning (2011, University of Barcelona Press).
DR. KELLY KILLORN-MORAVEC is an internationally recognized literacy expert with nearly 20 years of experience in public education at the primary and secondary levels. As a teacher leader in Bloomington Public Schools (Minnesota), she is implementing a district-wide initiative to build excellence-focused, good practices to prepare students for successful futures in higher education and in their careers. She also works to enhance the performance of in-service teachers as an instructor at Hamline University.
Among her awards, Kelly is the recipient of the International Literacy Association’s Reading and Technology Award for classroom technology integration, the Nila Banton Smith Award for developing a program for helping teachers implement literacy strategies into their content area classes, and the Pedagogical Innovation Award for her use of technologies in university-level curriculum design from Minnesota State University – Mankato.
